At Trinity Wellness Group, LLC, I believe in taking a holistic approach to therapy, treating the whole person and not just their symptoms.
This means that in every aspect of therapy, I will consider my clients, body, mind, & spirit.
What is Wellness?
Wellness encompasses 8 mutually interdependent dimensions:
Attention must be given to all the dimensions, as neglect of any one over time will adversely affect the others, and ultimately one’s health, well-being, and quality of life.
It is my hope & goal that in working together we can include and consider each of these dimensions to your wellness.
We cannot do all things, all at once, but taking care of your emotional (MIND), Physical (BODY), and SPIRIT, we can affect change in the other areas well!
One day at a time. One step a time!
After decades of working with individuals in shorter term settings (Acute Care hospitals, Primary Care, etc.), I decided that I wanted to do deeper healing work with my clients and so I started as a Psychotherapist in private practice in 2015 & went on to open my own clinical practice in 2016.
After years of working with clients, & seeing what works best with what type of client, & most importantly, who has the best outcomes, it has been women, teens 14+, college students, & couples work.
It is not my intent to discriminate & I consider working with others on a case-by- case basis, particularly for EMDR therapy, as the outcomes for this are so encouraging!
I can (and do) work with men, if it is mutually decided upon in intake that I am qualified to work with the presenting issues!
As far as serving those of the Christian Faith, it is through my own experience in seeking therapy that I make this obvious to those seeking for a Christian Therapist
Decades ago, when I was seeking someone who had a similar faith as my own, someone who could understand Biblical references, foundational concepts, why I held the values I did- it felt like finding a needle in a haystack...
Very few therapists had their faith listed on their websites, (at the time, I didn't feel it was appropriate to ask) yet when it was obvious that we did not have the same or similar values, it made it challenging for me to form a therapeutic alliance.
I was newly a Christian & just learning myself, so I was guarded to get "bad advice".
I did find some good help along the way, thankfully, and I hope that you reading this finds exactly who is the best fit for YOU!
It makes all the difference in the world to find a therapist whom you feel is safe & trustworthy.
Being guarded in therapy will keep us from reaching our goals!
I respect all persons, I am just not specialized in all areas, and I wanted clients seeking this qualification to find it
Therefore, I list my Christian Faith on my site for those seeking Christian Therapy, not as a deterrent for those who do not adhere or practice Christian.
Your faith (or lack of) would NOT be a barrier to me working with you!
Scheduling options do change over time, depending on number of factors. Typically virtual sessions, during the day, have the most availability vs in-person sessions.
Generally, sessions are available Tuesday to Friday with Intensive Options on a case by case basis arranged in advance.
While my moral & ethical code prohibits me from judging or discriminating others personal choices, different from my own, I am also required by my licensing board to stay within my scope of practice, and to serve clients whom I have experience & expertise.
There are many therapists whom have expertise in serving LGBTQIA+ individuals, and so while I would not decline to offer services to individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+, because of their identification as such, I do seek to serve my clients in the best possible capacity that I can, and I feel that I do not have the experience to be able to provide quality, expert services in the same level of care that another therapist could provide.
I screen each client through a consultation process to make sure that I am adequately experienced, trained, have the scheduling availability based on clients needs, before taking on a new client(s), as this is a way for me to practice responsible & ethical care for those seeking therapy.
If a person of LGBTQIA+ should reach out for services, I will offer a consultation as any other client, and would make an assessment of presenting needs, availability, and provide additional resources, if I am not a good fit, as I would with any client who reached out!
I believe all people deserve access to good, quality care with no discrimination for any reason!
